READING MODULE 2 · FLUENCY UNDER PRESSURE

Add the missing question types. Make every strategy automatic under speed.

R1 taught the strategy system — skim, scan, sequence, TFNG, finish on time. R2 adds the three question types R1 deliberately omitted (Sentence Completion, Summary Completion, Multiple Choice Reading), then strips the scaffolding away. By Day 10, you complete a full three-passage simulation under real exam conditions. By Day 12, you can score 32+/40 on Passage 3 questions you'd previously dropped.

If this sounds like you

The problem this module fixes:

"I know the strategies for matching headings, TFNG, and Yes/No/Not Given. But Sentence Completion and Summary Completion still confuse me. Multiple Choice questions take too long. And when I reach Passage 3, I'm already exhausted — my strategies feel slow and effortful instead of automatic. I get 26-30/40 consistently and can't seem to push past it."

FROM R1 TO R2 · THE BRIDGE

R1 built the strategies. R2 makes them automatic.

In R1, you built the strategy system — skim, scan, sequence, decide TFNG vs YNNG, and finish on time. In R2, you add the three question types R1 deliberately omitted, then make the full toolkit fluent under real test pressure. By Day 5, scaffolding is stripped. By Day 10, you complete a three-passage simulation. By Day 12, you can score 32+/40 under exam conditions.

NEW: SC Sentence Completion — word-limit discipline as reflex
NEW: SUMMARY Summary Completion — the summary IS the paraphrase
NEW: MC Multiple Choice Reading — elimination strategy
SPEED AT P2 Full toolkit at Passage 2 difficulty, 20-minute target
SPEED AT P3 Real Passage 3 difficulty with fatigue in the mix

Who this is for

Built for students who have R1's strategies but need speed and the missing question types.

This module is for students who score 26-32/40 consistently in practice. You have the strategies — TFNG, matching headings, locating answers, time management. But you're slow, you haven't trained on Sentence Completion, Summary Completion, or Multiple Choice Reading, and Passage 3 fatigue is dropping your final score by 4-6 marks every test. R2 fixes both the missing tools and the speed.

Students should usually complete R1 first, or already know R1's strategies. R2 assumes you can skim a passage in 2 minutes, decide question type at a glance, and finish Passage 1 in 17 minutes. If those aren't true, start with R1. If you score 33+/40 in practice but make precision errors (word limit, word form, spelling), look at R3 instead. The bundle gives you all three modules at a discount.

Day structure

The same pattern on every day.

Each day has four pages. About 45 minutes total. The five daily micro-drills run through all four pages.

STAGE 1

LEARN

One clear problem. One strategy. One model answer. One micro-pronunciation target.

STAGE 2

PRACTICE

Controlled drills. Short recordings. Sentence-level and answer-level practice.

STAGE 3

APPLY

Timed IELTS-style speaking task. Recording required. No overthinking.

STAGE 4

REFLECT

Self-check. Mistake pattern. One small improvement goal for tomorrow.

The curriculum

What you'll cover, day by day.

Four three-day clusters. Each fixes one specific Speaking problem before moving to the next.

CLUSTER 1 · DAYS 1–2

New tools

SC and Summary Completion introduced
DAY 1

Sentence Completion

SC is Short Answer with a grammar rule. Word-limit discipline as a reflex.

DAY 2

Summary Completion

The summary IS the paraphrase. The answer is the original passage word.

CLUSTER 2 · DAYS 3–4

Toolkit complete

MC added, all three new types mixed
DAY 3

Multiple Choice Reading

An elimination task. Cross out the wrong options before selecting your answer.

DAY 4

Mixed new types — speed day

SC + Summary + MC together for the first time. 20-minute target.

CLUSTER 3 · DAYS 5–6

Speed at Passage 2

Module 1 strategies meet Module 2 tools
DAY 5

Full toolkit at P2 — TFNG + SC + MH

R1 strategies meet R2 tools at Passage 2 difficulty. Strict 20-minute timer.

DAY 6

Full toolkit at P2 — YNNG + Summary + MC

The harder variants. Tracking meaning, not words. Full mixed-type set.

CLUSTER 4 · DAYS 7–8

Speed at Passage 3

Real P3 difficulty under fatigue
DAY 7

P3 passage — all question types

First encounter with the full toolkit on real Passage 3 difficulty.

DAY 8

P3 passage — MC and inference under pressure

The hardest question types when fatigue is highest. Inference work in detail.

CLUSTER 5 · DAYS 9–10

Simulation

Time banking becomes automatic
DAY 9

Two-passage simulation (P1 + P2)

40 minutes across two passages. Time banking made automatic.

DAY 10

Three-passage simulation (P1 + P2 + P3)

60 minutes. Full test conditions before Day 12.

CLUSTER 6 · DAYS 11–12

Recovery and capstone

Targeted repair, then final mock
DAY 11

Targeted repair day

Fix the weakest type from Day 10. Recovery before the final mock.

DAY 12

Full mock test

40 questions. 60 minutes. Real test conditions.

After 12 days

What you'll actually be able to do.

Specific, concrete things — not vague promises about "feeling more confident."

Answer Sentence Completion questions with word-limit discipline as a reflex — never lose a point for over-writing.
Solve Summary Completion by recognising the summary as the paraphrase — and locating the original passage word.
Use elimination strategy on Multiple Choice Reading questions instead of choosing what "sounds right."
Apply all eight question types under time pressure — including R1's TFNG and matching headings alongside R2's new tools.
Complete a Passage 3 set with the full toolkit, even when fatigue from Passages 1 and 2 is highest.
Complete two-passage and three-passage simulations with automatic time banking.
Identify your weakest question type and run a targeted repair day before the final mock.
Complete a full 40-question mock test under real exam conditions — 60 minutes, three passages, no retry.

R2 builds on R1. R3 completes the system.

R2 assumes you can already apply R1's strategies — skim, scan, sequence, TFNG, matching headings. If your foundation isn't solid, start with R1. R3 is the precision and error-taxonomy layer on top for Band 6.5+ students who still make "almost right" errors. The bundle gives you all three at a discount.
